Lot 1486 Nevada County Bottle Trio CA - Nevada City,Saloon

Lot of 3: 1) A clear glass, faint sun purple, 7" tall hutchinson, with gravity stopper. Slug inscribed NEVADA CITY SODA WORKS E.T.R. POWELL. Applied top, small chip in base. 2) Slug indicates RICHARD A. NOELL NEVADA CITY SODA WORKS NET CONTENTS 8 FLUID OUNCES. Light green, 8" crown top. The Nevada City Soda Works was located on what was then Washington Road (now Uren Street) near the city limits. They bottled various flavors of carbonated soft drinks under the Mountain Maid label and also distributed Coca-Cola and Shasta beverage products, Roma wine, and two brands of beer. 3) Slug inscribed BOTTLED BY CLINCH MERCHANTILE CO. DEALERS IN WINES & LIQUORS GRASS VALLEY, CAL on this 11" clear glass (slight sun wash) quart size liquor bottle, slightly crooked neck, applied top, and warped base. There are air vent holes in the shoulders, no damage. Clinch served two terms as Mayor of Grass Valley from 1899 to 1902. - Jacobitz Collection
